A coiled white stoneware vase, with a pinched marbled black and white porcelain bloom. Copper oxide has been added to create a dappled effect on the surface.
 
Connecting porcelain to stoneware requires patience as the two clays shrink at different rates, add it at the wrong time and they will pull away from each other and crack, usually in the firng process so you never know until the final gloss firing. This piece worked well and is from an old collection.
