Breach II
Bursting from a weighted stoneware orb, this black stoneware Manta is decorated with porcelain sip and parian, with beaten lead sea spray lifting it out of mottled blue glaze.
Parian is a type of porcelain that imitates marble. It was developed in the mid-1800's by the staffordshire pottery manufacturere Minton and is often used in victorian sculptures and dolls and can be found in solid and slip form.
